Librarian Position at Morris School

Location: Southeastern Alberta (Drumheller)

Join Morris School as a dedicated School Librarian focused on supporting library operations and fostering a learning-friendly environment. This part-time position emphasizes engagement with students and resource management.

This role involves overseeing circulation duties, including cataloguing and reference services. As a School Librarian, you'll assist both staff and students in finding necessary materials while also promoting literacy through engaging programs. The part-time role offers 17.5 hours weekly, commencing in the  school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate circulation and manage library materials efficiently

• Offer audio-visual support to enhance learning

• Guide students and staff to locate resources

• Develop and implement library programming

• Assist with administrative duties from school leadership

Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma; diploma in library science preferred

• Effective use of Microsoft Office tools

• Proven organizational skills and time management

• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration

• Background checks required prior to employment
