Educational Support Assistant Position in Tagwi Schools

Location: Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry United Counties (Alexandria)

Empower student learning as an Educational Assistant at Tagwi Secondary and Intermediate Schools within the Upper Canada District School Board. Support and further the educational journey of students with unique needs.

As an Educational Assistant, you will collaborate with teachers to support individualized education programs and address specific student challenges. This UCDSB role focuses on using behavioral management techniques and fostering effective communication skills in students. A flexible approach is necessary as you navigate diverse educational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized education strategies and goals

• Maintain records for medication and support processes

• Assist in developing therapeutic educational programs

• Foster communication for students with special needs

• Supervise student activities across various school settings

Requirements:

• Must have a secondary school diploma and relevant diploma from college

• Experience dealing with students with behavioral or learning challenges

• Understanding of effective teaching and communication strategies

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently

• Current RECE registration and certifications preferred
