Inclusion Facilitator - Community Recreation

Make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities as an Inclusion Facilitator with the Town of Newmarket. This seasonal role emphasizes creating inclusive recreational experiences and managing diverse participant needs.

Join the Recreation and Culture Team as an Inclusion Facilitator in Newmarket's Community Services. This position requires at least 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with special needs. Adapt and implement engaging activities, while effectively managing behavioral challenges to maintain a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide participants through planned recreational activities

• Modify programs to suit individual needs and preferences

• Manage challenges to ensure participant safety

• Provide personal care when required, including toileting and feeding

• Collaborate with staff and communicate regularly with guardians

Requirements:

• Post-secondary studies in related fields preferred

• 1-2 years of experience in recreational settings

• Certifications in behaviour management and first aid required

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Police Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory
