Okanese Learning Centre Elementary Teacher

Become an Elementary Teacher at the Okanese Learning Centre for Kindergarten to Grade 3, starting August 2026. This full-time role focuses on land-based, culturally relevant pedagogy.

The File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council is looking for an inspiring Elementary Teacher to create a nurturing, inclusive environment for young students. In this role, you will incorporate First Nations language and culture into your curriculum while supporting their overall well-being. Collaboration with school leadership and local community is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement culturally aligned lesson plans

• Create an engaging and safe classroom experience

• Collaborate with community Elders and educators

• Regularly assess and maintain student progress records

• Participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Saskatchewan certification

• Clear criminal background check and SPTRB compliance

• Preferred experience in early childhood education

• Interest in First Nations ways of knowing required

• Strong skills in communication and classroom management
