French Immersion Teacher

Position: Full-Time French Immersion Teacher Role
Location: Dawson City

Ascension Collegiate is seeking a Full-Time French Immersion and Math Teacher for the  school year. This role emphasizes bilingual student achievement in a collaborative classroom setting.

As a dedicated educator at Ascension Collegiate, you will instruct French immersion students and teach mathematics, ensuring a culturally relevant learning experience. Your approach will align with the School Development Model while nurturing a safe and caring environment for all students. You will engage in student assessments and promote language skills through interactive teaching methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach French immersion and Math to secondary students

• Implement engaging and culturally responsive instruction

• Assess student performance towards curriculum outcomes

• Foster positive relationships in a bilingual space

• Collaborate with colleagues for continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education - Secondary with French Major

• Minimum B2 DELF Assessment certification

• Ability to support diverse learning needs

• Knowledge of effective language teaching strategies

• Experience in bilingual education environments
