The Indigenous Community Worker serves as a crucial liaison between the school and Indigenous families. By promoting awareness of cultural practices, you will support students’ daily educational journeys. This position requires a deep understanding of diverse beliefs and a commitment to positive engagement with students and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a liaison between Indigenous families and the school

• Provide daily support for Indigenous students’ needs

• Promote the awareness of cultural practices within the school

• Facilitate opportunities for students to learn from Elders

• Represent North East School Division positively and professionally

Requirements:

• Understanding of Indigenous cultural backgrounds

• Strong communication skills with families and students

• Experience working in community support settings

• Willingness to engage with traditional knowledge keepers

• Temporary, full-time availability for 10 months
