Position Summary

Mentor Canada is seeking a Research Support Officer through Canada Summer Jobs, to support outreach, relationship building, and resource creation.

The Research Support Officer will support outreach, relationship building, and resource creation and dissemination within the mentoring field. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in stakeholder engagement, knowledge mobilization, and capacity building while contributing to impactful work in the youth mentoring field.

Key Responsibilities

The following outlines the key responsibilities of the Research Support Officer:

Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Conduct outreach to stakeholders in the mentoring field to foster engagement with Mentor Canada and build relationships.
Awareness and Uptake of Resources
  • Raise awareness and increase uptake of Mentor Canada’s services, tools, resources, and research through strategic communication and outreach.
Professional Development Coordination
  • Organize and support professional development events, such as webinars, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for events, including scheduling, communications, and post-event follow-up.
Knowledge Mobilization of Research
  • Assist in disseminating research findings and best practices to stakeholders in accessible and engaging formats.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of reports, briefs, and presentations.
Resource Development
  • Contribute to the creation of research-informed tools, resources, and training materials for stakeholders in the mentoring field.
  • Support the design and refinement of materials to ensure they meet stakeholder needs and align with organizational goals.

The candidates must be available to work 30 hours per week between May and August, 2026. Candidates must be between the ages of 18 to 30 and Canadian citizens or permanent residents. This is a summer job with no possibility of extension.
