Position: Jaffray Woodwork Teacher for Grades 7-10
Location: East Kootenays (Fernie)

Join Jaffray Elementary/Junior Secondary School as a part-time Industrial Education Teacher focused on woodwork for Grades 7-10. This role is designed for educators passionate about hands-on learning.

As a part-time Industrial Education Teacher (0.571 FTE), you will teach woodworking skills to students starting September 8, 2026. This position requires BC Teacher Certification or equivalent qualifications and experience in woodworking instruction. Classroom management and student engagement are a priority in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging woodwork lessons to Grades 7-10

• Create and refine curriculum based on best practices

• Oversee safe use of tools and equipment

• Evaluate and provide feedback on student projects

• Participate in school-wide educational events

Requirements:

• Preferred BC Teacher Certification

• Teaching experience or degree at the secondary level

• Formal training in woodworking education

• Red Seal or relevant diploma required

• Dedication to fostering a safe learning environment
