Position: Speech and Language Support Assistants Wanted
Location: High Level

Fort Vermilion School Division is hiring two Speech and Language Assistants for the upcoming school year. Play a crucial role in enhancing communication and literacy for diverse learners throughout the district.

This position involves supporting Speech and Language Pathologists in various capacities, including implementing Alternative and Augmentative Communication systems and managing fluency issues. As a Speech and Language Assistant, you will provide vital assistance to students with unique needs in both La Crete and High Level regions, traveling between schools as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct hearing screenings with students

• Assist in the use of AAC systems, including PODD

• Support literacy intervention programs for communication needs

• Help develop oral language skills in primary classes

• Complete additional duties as necessary

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required

• Experience with SLPs or related studies preferred

• Background working in educational environments

• Must handle sensitive information collaboratively

• Pass required Police-Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Checks
