Elementary French Immersion Teacher

Location: Omineca and Yellowhead (Smithers)

Ecole Roosevelt Elementary in Prince Rupert seeks an enthusiastic Elementary French Immersion Teacher for grades 2 and 3, promoting language and cultural integration.

Starting September 8, 2026, this full-time role within School District No. 52 focuses on nurturing students’ bilingual abilities. Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Education and have specialized experience in French Immersion education. Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills are crucial for building a collaborative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach French Immersion curriculum effectively to grades 2 and 3

• Develop a rich classroom culture that values diversity

• Integrate local Indigenous knowledge into instruction

• Work together with fellow educators to improve learning practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent experience

• Recent teaching experience at the elementary level

• Specialization in French Immersion curricula

• Fluent in both English and French, written and spoken
