Position: Specialist Teacher for Case Management
Location: Omineca and Yellowhead (Smithers)

Elevate student services as a Case Management and Student Services Teacher at Fort St. James Secondary School in British Columbia. Focus on IEP development and inclusive classroom practices.

With a start date of September 1, 2026, Nechako Lakes School District invites applications for a continuing specialist position. Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Education, with qualifications in Special Education highly regarded.

Experience with behavioral intervention and the ability to utilize the Response to Intervention model will be critical in addressing learning challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for diverse learners

• Employ inclusive teaching methods in lesson plans

• Collaborate with families to support student needs

• Integrate modern technologies into classroom learning

• Cultivate an engaging classroom atmosphere

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education is necessary

• Coursework or degree in Special Education preferred

• Proficiency in functional behavior assessments

• Current BC teaching certificate required

• Knowledge in managing intensive behavior student cases
