Our goal is to support all learners in developing the essential skills, knowledge and personal qualities that they need to thrive in life.

Are you passionate about shaping the future of education in the Yukon? The Department of Education is dedicated to providing high-quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all Yukoners. We are committed to excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in every aspect of our work.

The department plays a crucial role in delivering a wide range of services and supports that span from early learning to adult education and encompass K-12 schooling. We are proud of the diverse team of professionals who collaborate to develop and implement policies, programs and initiatives that promote student success and enhance educational outcomes across the territory.

Robert Service School is a vibrant K–12 learning community of approximately 190 students located in the heart of Dawson City on Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Territory. Our school is supported by a dedicated and diverse team of educators and staff, working in partnership with the RSS/TH Administrative Team, families, and the broader community.

Through Section 17.7 of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Self-Government Agreement, Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in and the Government of Yukon share responsibility for lifelong learning on Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory. Together, we co-govern the administration, design, and delivery of education, creating an integrated learning environment grounded in Dënezhu and local ways of knowing, being, and doing.

As members of this community, we are guided by the principles of Tr’ëhude—living and moving through the world in a good way. These values shape our relationships, our learning, and our commitment to one another.

At Robert Service School, we believe every learner has unique strengths, interests, and aspirations. By listening to and learning alongside our students, we strive to provide meaningful opportunities that meet their individual needs, nurture their sense of purpose, and support them in becoming confident, capable members of their community and the wider world.
