Student Advocate at Aspen View Schools

Location: Eastern Alberta (St. Paul)

Aspen View Public Schools is looking for a dedicated Student Advocate in Vilna, Alberta. This role focuses on supporting student well-being, academic success, and an inclusive school environment.

The ideal candidate will provide counselling and advocacy to enrich the social, emotional, and academic experiences of students from preschool to Grade 12. You will collaborate with teachers and staff on restorative practices and participate in community activities, such as Indigenous programming. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with youth in educational settings are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counselling and referrals for student well-being

• Collaborate on implementing restorative practices

• Assist in delivering nutrition and Kindergarten programs

• Participate in Indigenous cultural programming

• Support a positive, inclusive school environment

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree in social work, education, or related field

• Knowledge of Cree/Metis cultural language is an asset

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience in a school setting preferred

• Current criminal record check required
