Position: Student Support Worker for Indigenous Youth

Support Mi'kmaw and Indigenous students at HRCE as a Student Support Worker. This vital role is geared toward creating strategies to enhance student achievement and experiences.

At Bay View, the Mi'kmaw Indigenous Student Support Worker will ensure that Indigenous students thrive in their educational environment. This position requires collaboration with school staff and a focus on cultural inclusivity. Candidates should have substantial experience supporting youth and a passion for promoting Indigenous strengths.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create strategies for Indigenous student achievement

• Collaborate with school leaders on initiatives

• Build strong relationships with families and communities

• Facilitate communication links for student support

• Advocate for Indigenous youth in educational settings

Requirements:

• Degree in social sciences or equivalent experience

• Three years of experience assisting Indigenous youth

• Background in case management preferred

• Training in working with Indigenous communities

• Strong interpersonal skills for effective support
