Grade 9 French Language Educator

Position: Grade 9 French Language Educator Wanted
Location: Sherwood Park West

Elk Island Catholic Schools seeks a dedicated Grade 9 French Teacher at Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This temporary position starts on August 26, 2026, and ends on June 24, 2027.

You will be responsible for teaching Grade 9 French as a Second Language as well as Etudes Sociales and Health courses. A Bachelor of Education and eligibility for an Alberta teaching certificate are required. The ideal candidate should embrace Catholic teachings and foster a nurturing learning environment in their classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach French language and culture to Grade 9 students

• Include Etudes Sociales and Santé/Health topics in the curriculum

• Assess and track student academic progress

• Build an inclusive classroom where all students feel valued

• Work with fellow educators in curriculum enhancement

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education degree preferred

• Eligible for or possess an Alberta teaching certificate

• Active practice of Catholic faith expected

• Strong instructional and interpersonal skills

• Committed to student-centered education approaches
