The Strait Regional Centre for Education is hiring a Teacher Assistant to work 6.75 hours per day beginning September 1, 2026. You will assist students with personal care, behavior management, and instructional support as directed by teachers. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a background in personal care, and the ability to manage students with exceptional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with personal hygiene and mobility needs

• Promote emotional well-being and independence

• Support instructional programs and facilitate interactions

• Administer medication per established protocols

• Accompany students to community educational programs

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Relevant teacher assistant training or equivalent experience

• CPR and First Aid certification required

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience with assistive technology and exceptional needs students
