Upper Canada Child Care - “A smile on each child’s face…every day.”
We are currently recruiting Registered Early Childhood Educator(s) or equivalent (Child and Youth Worker or OCT Member) to join our Team in Keswick at the following location: Prince of Peace CES.
This position is to fill a new vacancy.
Pay Range:
RECE or Equivalent: $26.07 - $29.79/hour (includes General Operating Grant) plus Wage Enhancement Grant (up to $2.00/hr) & Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr) .
Position Type & Required Availability:
Full-time Split Shift Position (30 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a split-shift (morning and afternoon) Monday-Friday to be considered.

Position Summary
To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met while applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. To deliver a developmentally appropriate, inquiry/play based program while ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines, policies and procedures. Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position.
Job Responsibilities
Applies professional knowledge of child development and current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Care’s program statement.
Adheres to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as outlined by the Ontario College of Early childhood Educators (if applicable).
Keeps team and supervisor apprised of compliance issues or problems related to governing regulation and internal policy.
Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc.
Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Completes program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks as required.
Provides guidance to assistant educators, students and volunteers as needed.
Models expectations for student teachers from colleges, universities, secondary schools, etc. Completes documentation from Educational Institutions as required.
Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children. Attends parent and community meetings as needed.
Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.
Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.
Identifies children in need of additional support. Guides parents through the process of accessing resources. Helps design and implement individual support plans as required.
