Location: Huron (Wingham)
Overview Educator Opportunity | Small Class Full-Time
We are currently seeking a thoughtful, grounded educator to step into our nature-based learning community. This is for a developing junior (Grade 7-8 Class MWF and Grade 4-8 TTh).

Schedule:
Monday to Friday classroom teacher 8:30–4:00
Class Size: 7–13 students (multi-age)

Compensation & Benefits
This role offers total annual compensation equivalent to approximately $45,000–$65,000 , inclusive of salary, vacation pay, RRSP contributions, and advantages. Pending qualifications and experience.

About Us The Owl’s Nest is a holistic, nature-based learning community rooted in connection; to ourselves, each other, and the land.
Located on a beautiful 75-acre rural property in Harriston, Ontario, we serve children from preschool through Grade 9 through a play-rich, multi-age, and intentionally guided curriculum that honours curiosity, creativity, and care. We are growing and looking for educators who want to grow with us.
What You’ll Be Doing Leading a small, mixed-age group
Planning and delivering curriculum including literacy and numeracy in meaningful, developmentally appropriate ways
Supporting social-emotional development and peer relationships
Engaging in outdoor, land-based learning across seasons
Documenting learning and communicating with families
Collaborating with a small, aligned team
Who You Are You are a reflective, creative educator who sees children as whole people. You believe in a different kind of schooling; one rooted in connection, intention, and respect.
Experienced working with children in a school, forest school, or alternative setting
Comfortable with (or eager to learn) play-based, inquiry-driven, and nature-based approaches
Skilled in observation, documentation, and responsive planning
Familiar with (or excited to learn) the Science of Reading and holistic math approaches
Grounded, adaptable, and able to work within a dynamic environment
Comfortable teaching outdoors in all seasons
Assets OCT strongly encouraged, Waldorf or Montessori training considered
Experience with multi-age or alternative education models
Neurodivergent-affirming and developmentally-informed practice
High skills in teaching math and literacy
Experience with UFLI or structured literacy programs
Creative strengths (art, music, storytelling, handwork)
Local to the area
