This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 full days until 4:30 p.m. June 17, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to support students and teachers in creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment. You will collaborate with classroom staff and other professionals to assist students in their learning, participation, and overall development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to supporting diverse learner needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support students individually and in groups with classroom learning activities; reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher.

Assist with independent work and monitor progress.

Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, playground, and during arrival, dismissal, and school activities.

Support behavior management strategies and assist with observation, documentation, and reporting for meetings and conferences.

Provide personal care assistance if required.

Position Details
This is a full‑time probationary position (30 hours per week) to commence the first day of the  school year.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma required; preference for candidates who hold a post‑secondary certificate or diploma in a human services field.

Preference will be given to candidates with training in special education or a related field, and experience supporting individuals with special needs.

Strong organizational, time‑management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
