Compensation
Annual Teacher Salary Scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement and benefits contained within the agreement.

Job Summary
As a French second language teacher, you will play a critical role in ensuring student achievement, supporting an inclusive and bilingual learning environment, and collaborating for professional growth within the School Development Model.

Responsibilities
Guided by the 7 Determinants of the School Development Model — Wellness and Positive Relationships;
Optimal Learning Environments;
Instructional Practice;
Assessment Practices;
Collective Efficacy;
Evidence‑based Decision Making; and Teachers as Learners — you will:

Apply knowledge and methodology for second‑language instruction to deliver culturally relevant language and content instruction.

Balance language instruction with content delivery, ensuring a language‑rich learning environment.

Facilitate authentic, interactive strategies for progressive development of French second‑language learning.

Implement differentiated literacy development through appropriate strategies and resources.

Required Education and Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts in French

Bachelor of Education (Secondary) with French Major

Minimum of B2 DELF Assessment (70% overall with no less than 60% in each component)

French first‐language applicants and equivalencies considered

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Deep understanding of outcomes and content expertise for French second‑language teaching.

Commitment to culturally relevant instruction and assessment for all students.

Fluency in a linguistic model fostering a language‑rich learning environment.

Ability to promote authentic, interactive strategies for language development.

Experience with second‑language literacy development using differentiated strategies.
