Position: Teacher for Specialized Independent Living Programs
Location: Northeastern Alberta (Fort Chipewyan)

Be a key player at Fort McMurray Catholic School Division as a teacher in Specialized Independent Living Programs for the  academic year. Engage students with complex needs through innovative educational practices and collaboration.

This teaching position demands expertise in Special Education and a proactive approach in collaborating with School Administrators, teachers, and families to support student development. Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Education, be eligible for Alberta Teacher Certification, and have extensive experience in supporting students' literacy, numeracy, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate individualized learning plans for complex needs students

• Provide life skills training in community environments

• Manage and enhance communication and social skill practices

• Partner with external specialists for effective interventions

• Guide the planning of Educational Assistants' efforts

Requirements:

• Eligible for Alberta Teacher Certification

• Bachelor's degree in Education essential

• Experience with students having complex needs required

• Specialized Inclusive Education coursework is beneficial

• Must complete a vulnerable sector record check
