Type of Employment  Contract Assignment

The substitute teacher must have a genuine love of teaching students, and demonstrate sensitivity to diversity. Individuals that want to become a substitute teacher must meet State and GREAAT Schools, Inc. requirements. The applicant should have some basic experience related to all duties connected to managing a classroom of students to ensure learning objectives are achieved.

REPORTS TO  School Leader/human resources

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Managing a classroom of students to ensure learning objectives are achieved.

Ability to create and/or follow lesson plans.

Provide a structured learning atmosphere while maintaining positive control of the classroom.

Monitor student attendance and behavior.

Possess the ability to develop positive working relationships with students, administrators and staff

Preferred Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and valid Teaching Certificate or a minimum of 90 college credit hours (from an accredited university) with at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

Highly organized with exceptional time management skills

An interest in working with students of various age groups

Ability to create a positive learning atmosphere, focused on student involvement/interaction

Ability to manage conflict and obtain positive results

Professional demeanor and personal integrity

Ability to demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe environment for students

Demonstrated ability to adapt to individuals specific needs

Demonstrated ability to use & integrate arts and technology in classroom and project instruction

Demonstrated ability to adapt to differences and changes in characteristics of students, programs, leadership, staff and community

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member

Required Criminal history background check.

All Substitutes may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
