Part-Time Temporary (0.70 f.t.e.) Information Specialist combined with a Part-Time Temporary (0.20 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant
The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for this position to commence on August 20, 2026 and continue until June 29, 2026.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization of the school's materials, including physical and digital inventory, ordering and maintaining textbooks and other resources such as chrome books, and working with staff to secure materials under the direction of the school's administrative team. This position will also include working with coded students on a 1-1 and small group basis.
Peace River High School is located in the town of Peace River, serving approximately 250 students in grades 9-12.
Peace River is a town in northwest Alberta. It is along the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River, the Heart River and Pat's Creek. Qualifications- A high school diploma and education and/or experience working in an information management setting
- Experience with online resource management
- Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent
- Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities
- Able to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines
- Patient and helpful with staff and students
- Well developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to liaise between school staff, divisional staff and outside agencies
- Strong organizational skills
Strong verbal and written English skills - Ability to work as a member of a team and maintain a positive work environment
- Willingness to be part of a learning team, take direction and follow programs without direct supervision
- Willingness to attend training and professional development opportunities on individual learning and complex learning needs
- Ability to be flexible to the changing classroom environment and individual child needs
- Ability to manage and organize programming and keep records
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers
- Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Criminal Record check must be less than six (6) months old to date of your application
This is a union position under the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division.
Rate of Pay: $22.79 to $28.31 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
