Position: Casual Educational Assistant Needed
Location: Northeastern Alberta (Fort Chipewyan)

Join Fort McMurray Catholic Schools as a Casual Educational Assistant, supporting children's development in various settings. Help implement educational strategies while working closely with teachers and multidisciplinary teams.

We're seeking casual educational assistants to make a difference in children's lives. This role requires previous experience working with children with exceptionalities and knowledge of behavior management strategies. Candidates should hold an Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma, and may need to obtain NVCI Level A & B certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support student growth in cognition, communication, and social development

• Implement teacher-directed programming and specialist strategies

• Collaborate under the guidance of teachers and the multi-disciplinary team

• Observe behavior to encourage positive outcomes and mitigate negatives

• Assist in using adaptive and learning technologies

Requirements:

• Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma

• Experience with children having special needs

• Skills in behavioral and educational strategies

• Physical capability to lift or transfer students

• Willingness to perform medical procedures when necessary
