Secondary Arts Teacher Position

Position: Secondary Arts Teacher Position Available
Location: Similkameen (Hope)

We are hiring a Term Specific Teacher for Spirit of Hope Secondary School, starting September 8, 2026. This full-time role centers on teaching diverse courses such as Photography and Media Arts.

The successful candidate will teach students in Photography 10-12 and Media Arts across various grades. A valid B.C. Teaching Certificate and university degree in secondary education are required for this role. We highly encourage applications from individuals with secondary teaching experience and knowledge of Indigenous student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Photography classes for high school students

• Design and implement Media Arts curriculum across grades

• Assess student work and promote artistic development

• Create an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere

• Guide initiatives to support Indigenous students effectively

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate

• University degree in secondary education required

• Journeyperson certification needed

• Successful teaching experience at the secondary level is preferred

• Experience working with Indigenous communities beneficial
