Responsibilities
Foster an atmosphere of pride, respect, and trust.
Assist with the preservation of traditional knowledge and oral tradition.
Assist classroom teachers with First Nations and Métis knowledge, language, and traditional skills.
Teach traditional and cultural skills such as trapping, fishing, beading, storytelling, and smudging.
Teach cultural life skills to promote mastery, generosity, independence, and belonging.
Meet with at‑risk youths.
Assist with parent support groups.
Cree language is an asset.
Qualifications
Experience and/or training in culturally based education and knowledge keeping.
Ability to collaborate with school staff to integrate First Nations and Métis knowledge, language, and traditional skills.
Respect for Indigenous knowledge systems and community engagement.
Cree language is an asset.
