Annapolis Valley Social Emotional Learning Teacher

Location: Kings County (Kingston)

Join the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education as a Social Emotional Learning Support Teacher from November 2026 to July 2027. This 0.75 FTE term role emphasizes student support and mental wellness.

In this position, you'll play a crucial role in furthering the Well Being and Mental Wellness Plan. Your responsibilities include organizing and delivering needs assessments, advocating for students, and collaborating with various professionals to enhance their life and career transitions.

This role offers an opportunity to work closely within the school community to foster an atmosphere that supports students' emotional learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver classroom presentations for transitions and needs

• Implement community collaborations for student support

• Facilitate mediation and restorative practices, if trained

• Ensure communication with parents/guardians for student needs

• Advocate for student access to scholarships and graduation support

Requirements:

• Relevant teaching experience in a Resource or Guidance capacity

• Ability to provide 3 professional references

• Committed to promoting inclusive education

• Training in supporting life/career planning desirable

• Effective collaboration with school staff and community partners
