Elementary Social Emotional Learning Support Teacher

Location: West Annapolis County (Middleton)

Join the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education as a Social Emotional Learning Support Teacher. This 0.50 FTE term position focuses on enhancing student well-being within the elementary school community.

As a key player in the Well Being and Mental Wellness Plan, you will facilitate needs assessments and lead important classroom presentations.

Your role will also include advocating for students and fostering communication with parents and community partners, ensuring that each student feels supported in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver presentations on social emotional and career needs

• Conduct needs assessments for students and staff

• Collaborate with educators and mental health professionals

• Provide guidance to students on transition and planning

• Advocate for student success within the community

Requirements:

• Relevant teaching experience in Resource or Guidance areas

• Capable of offering three professional references

• Trained in mediation and restorative practices (if applicable)

• Understanding of graduation requirements

• Commitment to inclusive education for all students
