S2627-10 Librarian - Caslan School

We are seeking a part-time (0.4615 FTE) Librarian to commence at the start of the  school year. The assignment will be for approximately 3 hours each day. The assignment involves managing the operation of the School Library under the supervision of School Administration. The successful applicant will possess the ability to work with both students and staff members. An energetic, personable, team orientated individual is required for this role.

Caslan School is located 45 km SW of the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 90 students in ECS to Grade 8.

Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have

• Basic or advanced certificate in a recognized Post Secondary Librarian Program
• Experience in the Athena, or related library system
• Knowledge of collection management, cataloging and document delivery
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• A familiarity with computers, current technology and internet research skills
• The ability to work with minimal supervision

Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include

• Previous experience working in a school library
