JOB SUMMARYThe Early Learning Facilitator reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Gahwajiya:de’ Detenatgwa’ta’ – Family Gathering Program Supervisor.
The Early Learning Facilitator is responsible for the delivery of a high-quality program by offering play-based, child-centered learning experiences to support children’s holistic development and to create a hub of support for our community and creating a sense of belonging for children and their families. The Early Learning Facilitator is part of a team working together to foster relationships with children, parents, staff, community and students, and performing other related duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Secondary School Diploma and willing to obtain enrollment in Early Childhood Education College Course or equivalent.
- Thoroughly familiar with relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines, i.e., requirements as set out by the Child Care and Early Years Act.
- Possesses excellent communication skills; verbal and written, as well as good interpersonal skills.
- Availability and flexibility for working various shifts during weekdays, nights or an occasional a shift on the weekend.
- Knowledgeable of Haudenosaunee culture, language and traditions of Six Nations
- Willingness to upgrade personal skills as required.
- Must pass a medical examination and immunizations are up to date.
- Must pass a criminal records/vulnerable records check.
- Must have a valid certificate in First Aid/CPR or willing to obtain one.
- Access to a reliable insured vehicle and must have a valid class “G” Ontario driver’s licence or willing to obtain and have a valid class “F” Ontario driver’s licence or obtain one, as required.
- A good understanding of the theory and practice of family support programs within the assigned work areas, Six Nations of the Grand River and Brant County.
- Experience working with families and children in community settings.
