Inclusive Junior High Educator Position

Location: Central Northwest Territories (Inuvik)

We are looking for a dynamic Educator to shape educational content that integrates diverse perspectives and Indigenous values. Your responsibility will include developing a competency-based curriculum in collaboration with local community members, ensuring that learning resonates culturally and contextually. Commitment to land-based education is essential to connect students meaningfully to their heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on designing competency-based curriculum with community input

• Integrate land-based learning into educational programs

• Foster a welcoming and inclusive cultural environment

• Liaise with community and Elders for collaborative feedback

• Promote equity initiatives across the school community

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education

• Eligible for a teaching certificate in Northwest Territories

• Strong background in Indigenous culture and education

• Experience with competency-based strategies and formats

• Excellent communication skills for community engagement
