A temporary part time (0.2) Resource Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2026 to January 28, 2027. The assignment will be at Hudson's Hope Elementary School.

Position Description
A temporary part time (0.2) Resource Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2026 to January 28, 2027. The assignment will be at Hudson's Hope Elementary School.

Hudson’s Hope School is a close community composed of students ages 0 years to grade twelve. Many of our students enjoy their entire educational experience with the same peer group over their time  age range within the school allows for incredible intergenerational teaching and learning experiences for our students. Our school is nestled in the Peace River valley, within walking distance of the Peace River, and a short drive to the School District’s Cameron Lake Outdoor Education Center.

Qualifications And Experience

Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)

Qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach the identified subjects

Master’s degree (or coursework in progress) in Special Education or Inclusive Education preferred

Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and the success of all learners

Experience supporting diverse learners, including students with autism, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs

Strong understanding of inclusive practices, including universal design, differentiation, Response to Intervention (RTI), and formative assessment

Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individual plans (IEPs, LSPs, BIPs, AIPs) for students with academic, social and emotional learning difficulties

Ability to implement Positive Behaviour Supports and Functional Behaviour Analysis within a collaborative team model

Experience with My Education BC is an asset

Knowledge and ability to support the development of CB IEPs for students; experience with My Education database

Knowledge of the BC Curriculum and ability to plan, implement, and assess instruction based on diverse classroom needs

Knowledge of Social Emotional Leaning (SEL) and strategies that promote safe, caring, and inclusive school environments

Experience supporting diverse learners, including students with autism, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs

Excellent interpersonal, communications, collaboration and organization skills

Strong belief in the philosophy of inclusion and the potential of all students to learn

Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the foundation of enhancing student learning

Demonstrated use of classroom management practices that are pro-active and maintain student dignity

Demonstrated use of assessment practices that promote student learning and maintain student dignity

Interested Applicants Are Required To Supply

Three (3) references

Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate)

Compensation

$2000 relocation allowance for teachers from BC, AB and Yukon and up to $4000 for teachers from other areas.

$3,500 recruitment allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on the FTE)

Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $72,720 - $118,770

Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE.

Isolation allowance of $726.59 paid over 10 months
