Position: Part-Time Educational Assistant Needed
Location: Northeastern Alberta (Fort Chipewyan)

Join Fort McMurray Catholic Schools as a part-time Educational Assistant. Support students in Grades 1-6 with your skills in behavior management and collaborative education strategies.

This role requires working 25-31 hours weekly at Saint Gabriel Catholic School starting August 28, 2026. You will be involved in executing teacher-directed programs, implementing strategies from multi-disciplinary teams, and closely observing student behavior. Prepare to engage with students’ diverse needs, ensuring positive educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cognitive and physical development of students

• Implement educational and behavior management strategies

• Document student activities and safety protocols

• Support the use of learning technologies and adaptive devices

• Provide supervision during indoor and outdoor activities

Requirements:

• Certification or Diploma in Educational Assistance

• Capability in managing complex behaviours and needs

• Physical ability to lift and support students

• Completion of medical procedures as needed

• Swim proficiency in 50 meters, level 1 and 2
