Position: Contract Teacher for Alternative Education
Location: Elkford

Join Elkford Secondary School as a Contract Teacher focused on Alternative Education for Grades 7-12. This position emphasizes on-site teaching and requires specialized training.

This full-time temporary role starts on September 8, 2026, and extends until June 25, 2027, or the return of the incumbent. Candidates should possess a degree or formal training relevant to the secondary education level, along with alternate education experience. Engage directly with students to support their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach alternate education courses to secondary students

• Develop individualized lesson plans to meet diverse needs

• Engage with students and staff to foster a collaborative environment

• Record and monitor student progress and achievements

• Provide regular communication to parents about student development

Requirements:

• Preference for candidates with BC Teacher Certification

• Previous teaching experience in alternative education

• Degree in education or relevant field

• Ability to pass the Criminal Records Review Act
