HAYS SCHOOLHays is a small hamlet 27 km east of Vauxhall on Highway 524. Our staff of 4 provide educational service to approximately 15 students ranging from kindergarten to Grade 9.
Regular Educational Assistant – approx. 6 hours/weekAssignment includes – Monday & Wednesday 12:00 p.m.

Hays school is looking for an Educational Assistant that is passionate about helping students achieve success.
This position is primarily providing Low German Language instruction under the direction of a Teacher and/or Principal. The successful applicant will also provide some learning support for individuals and/or groups of students. The ability to make positive connections with students, staff and community is a must. Knowledge of the Low German Mennonite culture is a strong asset.
An Educational Assistant in Horizon School Division:- Encourages students to develop and maintain positive interaction.
- Maintains confidentiality and a patient, supportive and enthusiastic commitment to students.
- As required, provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. ensuring that student dignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting, positioning, and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.
- Ensures the safety of students in the school and community, which includes maintaining close supervision of students, ensuring student equipment is sanitized and put away, retrieving students who attempt to leave their learning environment, calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting students who utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e., scissors, cooking utensils, etc.).
