In this pivotal role at John Smeaton Academy, you will work as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant engaging with students in various learning activities, especially within the Horizons provision for students with unique needs. Your contributions will enhance the classroom environment under teacher supervision, guided by your strong understanding of the curriculum and child development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and delivering engaging learning activities

• Monitor and assess student progress and success

• Provide necessary PPA cover for teachers

• Support students in the dedicated Horizons Resource Provision

• Utilize effective teaching strategies and curricular frameworks

Requirements:

• Must have Higher Level Teaching Assistant status or progressing towards it

• Level 2 Numeracy/Literacy certification or willing to learn

• Knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum

• Understanding of child developmental needs

• Proven ability to implement relevant teaching strategies
