We are a rapidly growing, award‑winning franchise seeking experienced Deck Supervisors to lead shifts, supervise on‑deck employees, maintain the pool environment, and interact with students and parents/guardians.

Deck Supervisor

Reports to

General Manager / Assistant General Manager / Pool Operations Manager

Summary

Manages assigned shift, supervises on‑deck staff, maintains pool safety and cleanliness, and supports GSS curriculum delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, discipline, and constructive feedback to instructors and deck teachers to ensure quality delivery of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
  • Conduct daily pre‑shift meetings and prepare the deck for the shift.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of instructors and deck teachers.
  • Interact with parents/guardians to discuss student progress.
  • Act as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete daily Deck Supervisor logs and monitor student attendance.
  • Coordinate tasks required to ensure the cleanliness of the pool facility.
  • Arrange for replacements for absent employees.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of chemicals for the pool environment.
  • Act as substitute swim instructor when necessary.
  • Suggest areas for improvement and implement corrective action through in‑services or other training.
  • Participate in training/in‑services as required.
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employer.
Requirements
  • Ability to work with children.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Must pass background examinations (included with training).
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two or more years as a swim instructor required.
  • Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or teacher preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
Certificates and Licenses
  • Lifeguard certification required.
  • CPR/AED certification required.
  • First Aid certification required.
Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity; noise level is usually moderate.
