Niton Central resides in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division, an elementary and middle school providing excellent education to grades JK-9.

Niton Central School - Niton Junction, AB

September 1, 2026, or upon mutually agreeable start date until June 29, 2027.

1.0 FTE Monday-Friday

• Providing instruction to promote high quality student-centered learning.
• Designing and preparing lessons based on curriculum and following a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing students, including lectures, demonstrations and discussions.
• Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students.
• Reviewing and evaluating each student's performance, knowledge and skills and meeting all reporting and assessment deadlines.
• Adhering to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures.
• Developing constructive relationships with parents.
• Modelling commitment to professional development.
• Teaching assignment is a split grade 7/8.

• Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one.
• Have experience in following the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum.
• Hold a Bachelor's degree of Education.

• The Division is committed to strong professional development and each teacher and principal has the opportunity to apply for up to $2,500 per year to support professional learning.
• The Division also provides $725 per year for teachers to allocate within a Health and Wellness Spending Account.

• Personal leave of absence, 4 days per school year
  • May accumulate up to 11 total personal leave days, see the Local ATA Collective Agreement for further details.
