Position: Permanent Part-Time Educational Assistant Role

Join the Simcoe County District School Board as a Permanent Part-Time Educational Assistant. This role focuses on delivering vital support in student learning and behavior management.

In this 0.5 FTE position, you will work mornings, engaging with students in various educational settings. Your focus will include assisting with developmental and academic needs, employing assistive strategies, and ensuring safety and comfort. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential as you help create a supportive environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group support for students' learning needs

• Assist with toileting, feeding, and lifting as necessary

• Coordinate with educational staff for effective interdisciplinary support

• Use knowledge of behavior management techniques effectively

• Support diverse students in mainstream and learning settings

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in human services or related field

• Mandatory BMS training

• Solid organizational and teamwork skills

• Communication expertise for interacting with students and staff

• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
