We are seeking a passionate individual dedicated to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning community. This junior high teaching role emphasizes indigenization, equity, and community engagement, ensuring a holistic approach to education. Embrace innovative land-based learning and collaborate with community elders to shape impactful programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with educators and Elders on curriculum development
• Foster cultural inclusion, reflecting local Indigenous perspectives
• Implement strategies for equity and inclusion in education
• Liaise with community for continuous program improvement
• Integrate land-based learning into the curriculum
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Education
• Eligibility for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate
• Understanding of Indigenous cultures and history
• Experience with inquiry-based instructional methods
• Knowledge of land-based education practices
