Position: Cochrane Public School Educational Assistant Role
Location: Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands

Join Cochrane Public School as an Educational Assistant, providing vital support to students with diverse needs. Engage with learners to enhance their academic and emotional success.

This temporary, full-time role (32.5 hours/week) starts as soon as possible and continues until December 1, 2026, or the return of the absent employee. Your mission is to assist students in thriving academically and socially within both integrated and specialized classrooms. Contribute to a nurturing educational environment where every student can flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students' individual educational and emotional needs

• Facilitate access to various curriculum materials

• Promote positive social interactions in the classroom

• Work with teachers to adapt learning plans for students

• Participate in the execution of IEPs and learning modifications

Requirements:

• Relevant post-secondary education in Education or related field

• Experience working with special education students preferred

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to provide a Criminal Background Check

• Passion for supporting diverse learners in a school environment
