Location: Moosonee
Become the Student Pathways Coordinator at WAHA in Moosonee, promoting educational access in Indigenous communities. Guide learners through their health career journey with direct mentorship and support.
The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority is looking for a coordinator to enhance student pathways to health professions. This role emphasizes community collaboration, educational guidance, and mentorship initiatives to facilitate smoother transitions for Indigenous students. Your focus will be on fostering relationships with schools and health partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate career exploration and recruitment events
• Advocate health profession pathways to communities
• Provide guidance on admissions and application processes
• Develop support systems for educational journeys
• Evaluate program effectiveness through data collection
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in education preferred
• Strong background in Indigenous community support
• 7-10 years experience in educational roles
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License required
• Willingness to travel frequently in the Weeneebayko region
Contribute positively to health education and student success at WAHA, making a real difference in the north.
