Support land-based learning at the Durham District School Board as a Supply Educational Assistant. Engage with students outdoors while fostering knowledge of Indigenous connections to the land.

As a Supply Educational Assistant at DDSB, your role involves collaborating with teachers to facilitate educational programs across four land-based learning sites. You will work with diverse student needs, emphasizing Indigenous knowledge and traditions. The position requires outdoor engagement and includes responsibilities such as supervising students and preparing classroom materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in teaching and learning processes outdoors

• Prepare educational resources and aids for students

• Maintain records on student progress and behavior

• Supervise students during activities and field trips

• Guide positive behaviors and implement management strategies

Requirements:

• Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12)

• Experience in Educational Support or Outdoor Education

• Knowledge of Indigenous teaching methods

• Criminal Background Check upon hire

• Ability to support diverse learning needs
