Position: Permanent Indigenous Language Teacher Position
Location: Britt

Transform learning in the classroom as a Permanent Indigenous Language Teacher for NNDSB in Britt. This role fosters knowledge and cultural understanding through effective teaching strategies.

The Near North District School Board invites applications for a permanent Indigenous Language Teacher starting in the  school year. Ideal candidates will possess a valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate and Indigenous Language Qualifications or be working towards NL Qualification.

Experience with digital tools like Apple software is preferred, along with a commitment to supporting at-risk students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement Ministry Curriculum in Indigenous Language instruction

• Support literacy and numeracy through whole school integration

• Use Apple devices for teaching and evaluation

• Collaborate with the school team effectively

• Utilize EDSBY for student learning tracking

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate

• Primary, Junior and Intermediate Qualifications

• Experience with Apple software and mobile devices

• Understanding of diverse learner needs

• Indigenous Language Qualification is an asset
