We are seeking a Technology Education Teacher to join our instructional team. The Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive education to students. Working closely with school leadership, support staff, and parents, the Teacher creates a safe and welcoming classroom environment that promotes the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of every child.

This position plays a key role in shaping foundational learning experiences, fostering a lifelong love of learning, and ensuring that curriculum delivery is respectful and reflective of the local community, including Innu culture and values.

• Instructional Delivery:
  Plan and deliver activities that facilitate active learning and align with provincial curriculum standards while differentiating instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Cultural Integration:
  Integrate Innu history, culture, and land-based learning opportunities into daily lessons to resonate with Innu students.
• Classroom Management:
  Establish a positive and safe classroom environment; guide students in social-emotional development, conflict resolution, and peer cooperation.
• Assessment & Reporting:
  Regularly evaluate academic development through formative and summative assessments; maintain accurate records and prepare detailed progress reports.
• Collaboration:
  
  Build respectful relationships with parents and caregivers; collaborate with instructional resource teachers and community members to support students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Technology:
  Utilize modern educational tools and Google Workspace to enhance curriculum delivery and administrative efficiency.

• Bachelor of Education from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Technology Education Diploma/Certification from a recognized post-secondary institution is considered a strong asset.
• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Teaching Certificate (or confirmed eligibility to obtain one).

• Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
• Provision of a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (current within the last 6 months).

• Experience teaching in a Junior High/Senior school setting, including practicum experience for recent graduates.

• Thorough understanding of child development and pedagogical best practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Demonstrated cultural competence, including awareness of Innu culture and values; fluency in Innu-Aimun is considered an asset.
