Empower students at the Upper Canada District School Board as an Educational Assistant. This rewarding role involves providing personalized support to students with exceptional needs both academically and socially.

Under the guidance of the Principal and Learning Resource Teacher, the Educational Assistant collaborates to implement Individual Education Plans and therapeutic programs. Your responsibilities will include supporting students with diverse needs, administering medication, and enhancing communication through assistive technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support academic development for students with Individual Education Plans

• Oversee and implement behavior management programs

• Administer medication following school guidelines

• Facilitate communication through sign language and assistive technology

• Maintain detailed student progress records

Requirements:

• Secondary diploma and relevant college certification

• Experience working with students who have special needs

• Knowledge of behavior management techniques

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
