Part-Time Educational Assistant

Peace River School Division is seeking a highly motivated a
Part-time (0.90 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant at Menno Simons Community School to provide one-on-one support to a student who has high needs, among other duties like supporting students with their learning needs.

Menno Simons Community School serves students in gradesK-12 population, comprised of English students and ESL Mennonite students. The school is situated west of Fairview near Cleardale, Alberta, approximately 200 km west of Grande Prairie. Manning Aurora Composite is a K-12 school in northern Alberta.

• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• Experience working directly with children
• Experience working with individuals with special needs

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and district office Program Coordinators
• A strong desire to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work independently.
• The ability to work independently, manage small groups effectively, and follow structured intervention plans.
• High level of commitment, accountability, and reliability.

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division.

$23.27 to $28.86 per hour(dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
