Summary: The Lead Technician - Solar will lead a team of field service technicians in operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventive and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, power inverters, and substation components.
Requirements:Mentors and sets positive example for junior technicians.Collaborates with senior line managers for plant maintenance.Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.Conducts preventive maintenance on AC and DC power systems.Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.Utilizes hand tools effectively and appropriately.Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system.Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumables.Develops and administers site operating plans.Develops and implements site safety plans.Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.Leads daily tailboards and conducts job hazard analysis (JHA).Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, .Interfaces with project subcontractors.Represents RES in professional manner.Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitudeSafetyFollows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.Leads and supports the site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing system in place.LeadershipFosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.Manages one or more direct reports.Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.Demonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.Employee Development:Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities.Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelinesQualificationsHighschool Diploma/GED required.Associate’s degree in technical field required.5+ years related electrical maintenance experience required.3+ years medium voltage electrical work experience required.2+ years high voltage electrical work experience required.2+ years managing or leading field technicians.Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.OSHA 10/30 preferred.FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.Infrared Thermography (any level) preferred.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,Advanced Knowledge:
