Power Engineer

Position: Power Engineer Opportunity with Nova Scotia Power
Location: Lingan

Embrace this full-time Power Engineer role at Nova Scotia Power's Lingan Generating Station. Ensure the efficient and safe operation of high-pressure boiler turbine units, contributing to overall plant performance.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you'll be integral to the Power Production team, required to complete safety trainings and engage in competency-based skills development. This position emphasizes teamwork, regulatory compliance, and responsibility for both personal and environmental safety. Your efforts will help enhance the reliability of the power generation process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor high-pressure boiler systems

• Engage in necessary safety and regulatory training

• Uphold environmental performance standards

• Assist in emergency response strategies

• Be prepared for call-outs and temporary location assignments

Requirements:

• 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate; experience preferred

• Proven problem-solving and adaptability skills

• Strong interpersonal and computer skills

• Color vision requirements for control operations

• Must live within a 60-minute commute
