Mechanical​/Piping Designer in Alberta

Location: Sherwood Park West

Join Aecon Industrial as a Mechanical/Piping Designer, supporting projects in Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta. Contribute to power generation and industrial construction using your expertise in design and drafting.

This role involves design development for mechanical and piping systems across various projects. You’ll work on water and wastewater facilities, power plants, and more, ensuring high-quality design from concept to construction. Collaboration with multi-discipline teams is key, as you create detailed drawings and specifications using industry-standard tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design medium to complex mechanical and piping systems using 2D/3D tools

• Prepare accurate drawings based on project specifications

• Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

• Review vendor documents for design accuracy

• Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering

• Minimum 10 years of North American design experience

• Proficient with Plant3D, REVIT, and ACC software

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Familiarity with industry-standard engineering practices
